Verify your social handles
A verified handle puts a green check on your wall, so backers know the page belongs to the person they follow. You need at least one before you can connect Stripe and receive money, so this is the step to do first.
The basic flow
It’s the same everywhere. On Edit profile, find Verified social handles, type your handle in a row, press Save handles, then press the Verify button that appears next to it.
Verify as many as you like — they all show on your wall. One is enough to unlock payouts.
Step-by-step for each platform
Each one has its own quirk, so pick yours:
- GitHub — one sign-in. Organizations work too, if you’re an owner.
- X (Twitter) — paste a short code into your bio. No sign-in.
- LinkedIn — personal profiles sign in; Company Pages use a code in the tagline.
- YouTube — sign in with the Google account that owns the channel.
- Instagram — one sign-in, but the account has to be Professional.
- Facebook — one sign-in.
- TikTok — one sign-in with the TikTok account.
- Twitch — one sign-in with the Twitch account that owns the channel.
- Your own domain — a DNS record or a meta tag. The one that doesn’t depend on any platform.
Editing a handle un-verifies it. If you change the text after verifying — even the capitalisation — the checkmark comes off and you’ll need to verify again.
What we can and can’t see
We store the handle, when you verified it, and your profile picture only if you choose to sync it. We never post on your behalf, never read your private messages, and never see your followers, analytics, or content.
