Two different things share the word “tier” in this business, so here is the difference in one line each. You never pay for a tier, and a backer never pays for a plan.
A monthly subscription you buy from us. It sets our cut of each backing and which tools are switched on. Change or cancel it any time; your wall stays live either way.
The level of a single backing, decided by the amount someone gives you. It sets which plaque appears on your wall and what perks you promised at that level. It costs you nothing.

There are no setup fees, listing fees, or payout fees. Two things come out of each backing, and they are independent of each other — our cut does not include Stripe’s.

About 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards. Stripe sets it, it varies by country and payment method, and it never comes to us.

Stripe’s share is an estimate — the exact amount depends on the card and country. Because you are the merchant of record on your own backings, Stripe issues your 1099-K where applicable, not us.
