SponsoredBy.io Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy governs use of SponsoredBy.io and all related Services. It applies to all users, including brands, agencies, advertisers, creators, managers, creator networks, publishers, partners, and visitors.
You may not use the Services to create, promote, distribute, coordinate, fund, facilitate, or conceal activity that violates this Policy.
1. General Rules
You may not use the Services to:
- violate any law, regulation, court order, platform rule, or third-party right;
- deceive, mislead, defraud, harass, exploit, or harm others;
- submit false, inaccurate, or misleading information;
- impersonate any person or entity;
- interfere with the security, integrity, availability, or operation of the Services;
- access the Services using unauthorized bots, scrapers, crawlers, or automated methods;
- reverse engineer, copy, resell, or misuse SponsoredBy technology or data;
- bypass usage limits, security controls, payment obligations, or platform fees;
- upload malware, spyware, viruses, worms, or harmful code;
- collect, process, disclose, or sell personal information without required rights, notices, and consents;
- infringe copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy rights, or other rights;
- manipulate campaign performance, creator metrics, engagement, clicks, conversions, views, or followers; or
- use the Services in a way that creates legal, reputational, security, or operational risk for SponsoredBy or others.
2. Advertising and Sponsorship Standards
Campaigns, creator content, brand materials, offers, and deliverables must be truthful, lawful, and not misleading.
You may not:
- hide or obscure paid sponsorships, affiliate relationships, gifted products, commissions, employment relationships, equity interests, or other material connections;
- ask creators to post undisclosed advertisements;
- make false or unsubstantiated product claims;
- use fake testimonials, fake reviews, fake engagement, fake followers, or fake endorsements;
- claim a creator used, likes, recommends, or approves a product if that is not true;
- manipulate before-and-after images, results, screenshots, metrics, or testimonials in a deceptive way;
- misrepresent pricing, discounts, availability, scarcity, performance, safety, earnings, outcomes, or benefits;
- target vulnerable groups in an exploitative or deceptive manner; or
- pressure creators to make claims or disclosures they believe are false, misleading, unlawful, or noncompliant.
3. Prohibited Campaigns and Content
You may not use the Services for campaigns, content, products, services, or offers involving:
- illegal goods, illegal services, or instructions for illegal activity;
- counterfeit goods or pirated content;
- intellectual property or proprietary rights infringement;
- copyright-infringing content (e.g. leaked music albums);
- malware, phishing, credential theft, hacking, spyware, botnets, or cyber abuse;
- scams, pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, get-rich-quick schemes, deceptive earnings claims, or fraudulent investment opportunities;
- hate, harassment, threats, bullying, doxxing, or abuse;
- violent extremism, terrorist content, or support for violent organizations;
- sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual content, or sexual content involving minors;
- human trafficking, forced labor, or exploitation;
- graphic violence, instructions for self-harm, or encouragement of suicide or self-harm;
- sale or promotion of stolen goods;
- unauthorized sale of personal information;
- voter suppression, election deception, or misleading civic-process information;
- deceptive medical, health, cure, weight-loss, or supplement claims;
- products or claims that are unsafe, illegal, or unsupported by required substantiation;
- discrimination in housing, employment, credit, education, public accommodations, or other protected areas;
- unauthorized use of another person’s name, image, likeness, voice, or identity;
- spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, or lead generation that violates applicable law; or
- any content that SponsoredBy determines, in its discretion, creates unacceptable risk.
4. Restricted Campaign Categories
The following categories require prior written approval from SponsoredBy and may require enhanced review, documentation, age-gating, geo-gating, substantiation, licensing, or additional terms:
- alcohol;
- tobacco, nicotine, or vaping products;
- cannabis, CBD, hemp, or controlled substances;
- gambling, sweepstakes, contests, fantasy sports, or betting;
- financial services, credit, loans, insurance, investing, crypto, NFTs, or trading;
- healthcare, medicine, telehealth, medical devices, supplements, wellness, weight loss, or fertility;
- political, election, advocacy, lobbying, or public-issue campaigns;
- adult-oriented products or services;
- dating services;
- weapons, self-defense products, firearms, ammunition, or tactical equipment;
- children’s products or campaigns directed to minors;
- environmental, sustainability, carbon-offset, or “green” claims;
- employment, housing, education, or credit opportunities;
- charitable fundraising, donations, or cause marketing; and
- any highly regulated industry.
SponsoredBy may reject, suspend, or require changes to restricted campaigns at any time.
5. Creator Conduct
Creators may not:
- accept campaigns they do not intend or are not able to complete;
- provide false audience, pricing, demographic, availability, or performance information;
- use bots, engagement pods, click farms, fake followers, fake comments, fake views, or artificial traffic;
- post sponsored content without required disclosures;
- remove required disclosures after approval;
- materially change approved sponsored content without authorization;
- submit deliverables that infringe rights or violate platform rules;
- disparage a brand in bad faith after accepting a campaign, while still preserving the right to give truthful opinions where allowed by the campaign terms and law;
- sell or transfer campaign opportunities without authorization; or
- attempt to circumvent SponsoredBy fees, tracking, reporting, or payment flows.
6. Brand and Agency Conduct
Brands and agencies may not:
- ask creators to make false, misleading, illegal, or unsubstantiated claims;
- ask creators to conceal sponsorships or material connections;
- use creator content beyond the rights granted;
- edit creator content in a way that makes it misleading;
- delay payment without a legitimate dispute;
- launch campaigns for prohibited products or deceptive offers;
- target creators or audiences in a discriminatory, exploitative, or unlawful way;
- request exclusivity, whitelisting, dark posting, boosting, or paid-media rights without clear written terms;
- pressure creators to violate platform rules or applicable law; or
- use SponsoredBy to harvest creator data for spam, scraping, off-platform solicitation, or fee circumvention.
7. Data and Privacy Misuse
You may not:
- scrape, harvest, sell, rent, or misuse user data;
- contact users outside the Services in a way that violates law or platform rules;
- upload personal information without required rights and notices;
- use data obtained through SponsoredBy for unrelated advertising, profiling, or resale;
- attempt to re-identify aggregated or de-identified data;
- disclose confidential campaign information without authorization;
- use creator or brand lists to build a competing database or service; or
- violate privacy, publicity, or data-protection rights.
8. Security Abuse
You may not:
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services without authorization;
- attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits, or security controls;
- interfere with service availability;
- use unauthorized automation;
- introduce malware or malicious code;
- access accounts, systems, or data without permission;
- exploit bugs or vulnerabilities; or
- fail to promptly report security issues discovered in the Services.

9. Enforcement
SponsoredBy may investigate suspected violations and may take any action we consider appropriate, including:
- warning users;
- requiring edits, removals, disclosures, substantiation, or documentation;
- rejecting or pausing campaigns;
- removing content;
- limiting, suspending, or terminating accounts;
- withholding, delaying, reversing, or offsetting payments;
- notifying affected users, platforms, payment processors, regulators, or law enforcement;
- preserving information for legal or safety reasons; and
- pursuing legal remedies.
We may enforce this Policy at our discretion. Failure to enforce a provision in one instance does not waive our right to enforce it later.
