Your plaque and your privacy
When you back a creator you get a plaque on their wall with your name, your tier, and how long you’ve backed them. That permanence is the whole point — it’s what makes a plaque worth more than a receipt. But it also means it’s worth deciding up front how public you want to be.
A plaque is permanent
Once a backing is paid and shown, it stays on the creator’s wall. Cancelling a monthly backing stops future charges but doesn’t remove your plaque or your history — the support genuinely happened, and the record reflects that. Think of it the way you’d think of a name on a donor board: it records that you were there, not that you’re still paying.
Backing without your name on it
If you’d rather not be publicly associated with a creator, choose to back anonymously at checkout. Your backing still counts toward their totals and their goal, they still get the money, and you still get a receipt — your name just doesn’t appear on the wall, and neither does any message you leave.
If you’re unsure, start anonymous — you can flip it later, but nobody can un-see a name that’s already been shown.
Changing your mind afterwards
You can change it yourself: open Sponsoring and use the visibility control next to the backing — Make anonymous hides your name (the plaque stays counted, shown as “A private supporter”), and Show my name puts it back. The public wall can take a few minutes to reflect the change.
What a creator can and can’t do
Creators moderate the messages left on their wall, and they choose which tiers exist. They can’t edit your name or your plaque. If you believe a plaque of yours is being used in a way you didn’t agree to, use the report link on the wall or contact trust & safety.
