The embed badge free

Put your backer count where people already look.

One line of Markdown drops a live badge into your README, docs, or site. It shows how many people back you, and it updates on its own.

Free on every plan.

Three of the styles you can generate. Counts are examples.

Why it matters
The badge is the single biggest driver of new backers.

Almost nobody visits your wall on purpose. They see your project, your repo, your newsletter — and if there is nothing there to click, that is the end of it. The badge fixes that. It sits where your work already is, shows a real number that goes up, and turns every reader into someone who knows they can back you. Copy it once and it keeps working with no effort from you.

How you use it

Setting it up

01

Build it in the dashboard

Getting backed has a live builder — pick the shape, size, theme, color and label, and watch the preview change.

02

Copy Markdown or HTML

One button each. Markdown for a README, HTML for a website or docs page.

03

Paste it where people look

Top of your README, your docs footer, your newsletter, your project site. It works cross-origin, so GitHub renders it fine.

04

Forget about it

The count refreshes on its own as backers join. You never touch the snippet again.

Specifics

Make it yours

The badge is a plain SVG, so it renders anywhere an image does and stays crisp on any screen. Everything about it is set with simple options on the URL.

  • Shape — rounded or square corners
  • Size — small or large
  • Theme — dark or light
  • Color — orange, blue, green, purple, pink, or slate
  • Label — your own wording, up to 28 characters
  • Seal — keep the mark or turn it off
  • Shows your backer count. It never shows amounts or what anyone gave.

Show the world who’s got your back.

Free to join. Your wall is live in minutes, and every backer after that is public credit.
